Photographer Research Project

         I decided to chose Marcus Hyde. The internet does not provide his age, however he appears to be maybe mid to high twenties, or even low thirties. Marcus Hyde is indeed still alive. Marcus' style of photography is Editorial Fashion Photography. Marcus has shot lots of models but also some well known celebrities like, Snoop Dogg, Childish Gambino, Chance The Rapper, Katy Perry, Khloe Kardashian, and Kim Kardashian. Marcus almost always has a model as a subject in his photos. I believe Marcus does not work for anyone. He uses a Canon 5d Mark 2. He says that he has used Nikon before but chose Canon because it is "more user friendly". Primarily, Marcus uses "98% natural light" because he lives in sunny Los Angeles. Marcus started out in his two year black and white darkroom photography class. Marcus went to an art school called Full Sail in Orlando. A lot of the photos he shoots are "startlingly erotic but far too edgy for the likes of a Victoria's Secret catalogue". There is typically a lot of nudity in his photos which might not be "appropriate" for high school considering I attempted to look at some of his work on Tumblr using the classroom computer but it claimed the website was blocked because it was "categorized as porn". Honestly I think the human body is a work of art and can be on of the most interesting things to shoot so I don't really see anything wrong with it but I understand we are minors lol. I like everything about Marcus' work, I want him to shoot more though! I researched Marcus because I love how he edits his pictures and I love the edginess of his photos and how he adds grain/noise. I believe his work is very unique.
